Movement Work

Having had a background in dance and formal, codified movement training, being introduced to free association movement work was something that both challenged and intrigued Liv. Particularly when exploring movement work on her postgraduate course with actors who had had no formal dance experience, Liv became incredibly interested in how movement, dance, and choreography emerged in contexts that revered storytelling, but had no possibility of being clouded with any technical elements. Liv began teaching dance classes to fellow actors, and exploring choreography in improvisational and R&D contexts. This quickly led to opportunities both assisting and choreographing a variety of plays and musicals during Liv's postgraduate degree, further encouraging this hunger for movement based storytelling and an interest in choreography. Through every project, Liv's priority and greatest interest has been how to offer performers of all experience levels ownership of choreography, and how to most organically and effectively (and always playfully) explore movement.
